About the role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Imports Co-ordinator to join our team who will be responsible for managing and coordinating the importation of goods, including documentation, customs clearance, and communication with suppliers and carriers. This role involves ensuring compliance with import regulations, monitoring shipments, and resolving any issues that arise during the import process.

Key responsibilities of our Imports Co-ordinator:

  • Coordinate and manage the importation of goods from various international suppliers.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of import documentation, including, invoices, and packing lists.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any delays or issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant import regulations and customs requirements.
  • Prepare and submit customs documentation and declarations.
  • Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth customs clearance.
  • Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to coordinate import activities.
  • Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on the status of shipments and any potential issues.
  • Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to import shipments.
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Maintain accurate and organised records of all import transactions and documentation.
  • Ensure all import documentation is complete and compliant with regulations.
  • Prepare reports on import activities and performance metrics.
  • Monitor and manage import-related costs, including duties, taxes, and shipping fees.
  • Work with suppliers and carriers to negotiate favourable terms and rates.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in the import process.

About You:

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience as import coordinator or a similar role in the logistics industry.
  • Strong knowledge of import regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and logistics management software.
  • Preferably have experience in all aspects of export and import regulatory compliance.
  • Friendly, positive, and professional attitude.
  • Strong organisational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Proactive and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
